ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
Travel to Owl’s Nest Lodge can be either by air or ground. It is our recommendation that if you are flying, that you fly to Gander International Airport (Newfoundland), which offers connections from most major North American centers. If, because of arrival or departure times it is necessary to overnight in Gander, we have a special arrangement with the Hotel Gander for our guests to receive preferential rates. Your package includes ground transportation to and from Gander at the start and completion of your hunt to our base camp. If you choose to drive to Newfoundland then you would proceed to North Sydney, Nova Scotia and take a six hour ferry crossing to Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland and then a five hour drive to our base camp in the town of Buchans. Most people schedule their ferry crossing in the night so that they can avail of the onboard cabins.
MEALS
All meals are provided at the lodge during your stay including breakfast, lunch, dinner. If you have any special dietary restrictions, please advise upon booking.
AMENITIES
All lodges (with the exception of spike or satellite camps) are equipped with hot & cold running water, indoor plumbing, showers, generated electricity, HF radios, boats and/or canoes. All-terrain vehicles (8 wheel Argos) are maintained at some of our lodges and these are used for the retrieval of game and may be used to assist hunters who have difficulties with a strenuous hunt in accessing distant hunting areas. In addition to our lodges, we have basic plywood/canvass spike camps.
